Summary
Today, 29 September, is the Stage 1 deadline previously set by Swansea Crown Court in the case of R v Jeffrey Bevan.
Stage 1 forms part of the Crown Court’s case-management process and is principally the stage by which the prosecution is required to serve the bulk of its case material.
The later stages broadly provide for the defence to respond and set out its case, followed by any necessary prosecution response and further disclosure, with final issues and applications dealt with as the case progresses towards trial.
These stages largely take place between the prosecution and defence behind the scenes and do not necessarily involve a court hearing.
Swansea Crown Court have confirmed that no court directions have been amended at present.
The adjourned Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing remains listed for 20 November 2026, with a provisional trial date of 4 October 2027.
We will continue to update the page when further confirmed information becomes available.
