  • Circuit Judge (2009–Present): Appointed to the bench in December 2009, he has sat primarily at Swansea Crown Court since 2010.

  • Appointed Senior Resident Judge & Honorary Recorder in 2019: Appointed to lead Swansea Crown Court in April 2019, simultaneously being bestowed the title of Honorary Recorder by the City and County of Swansea Council.

  • Education: Grew up in Dunvant, Swansea, attending local schools in Gowerton before earning his MA at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.

  • Chambers: Practiced as a barrister at Iscoed Chambers in Swansea from 1980 until his judicial appointment in 2009, serving as Joint Head of Chambers from 2006 to 2009.

  • Rugby: A former player for Dunvant RFC (1976–1984), He has also served as a Citing Commissioner for the Welsh Rugby Union.

  • Charitable Work: He is a founder of Skin Care Cymru, a registered Welsh charity.
